Sometimes you might be asked to run a compatibility troubleshooter, like this:

You might be experiencing the problem due to compatibility issues. To fix it, run Program Compatibility Troubleshooter. Follow the steps below:

  1. Right-click on the Microsoft Visual Studio icon on your desktop and select Properties.
  2. In the Properties window, click on the Compatibility tab.
  3. Now, click on the Run compatibility troubleshooter button.

But can’t find the tab in properties? There is no tab!

In Windows 10, right click the shortcut or .exe file and look on the menu, there’s an option to run the troubleshooter from there, like this:
